Bourne Road, Lowestoft is a Housing development by Lowestoft based firm Wellington Construction Limited. We were the successful contractor and instructed to carry out a major earthworks screening / crushing exercise to this piece of land, formerly used as a domestic waste disposal site we believe during the 1930's & 40's
Our contract involved reducing levels up to 2.50m screening excavated material to remove old bottles, shoes, wartime gas masks and various other none degradable materials. Keeping them in a separate heap for removal to licensed waste disposal site and re-depositing clean screened materials to raise levels compacted in layers.
We were also responsible to carry out off site carriageway realignment / upgrade works, sewer connections, on site carriageway construction, cut and fill exercise inc provision of piling mat and installation of various 3m diameter soakaways along with site welfare set up for Wellingtons future use.
